We often work with architects and design teams on complex developments for many years prior to a new H-B Designs Corporate Cycle hub being made available to business workplace employees.
In many instances we get involved in the initial layout configuration as long as five years before any work starts on site because we can offer a unique perspective and our considerable experience on the maximum capacity rates and ultimate goal, highest rates of user up take after installation.
For example, within the spectacular RIBA award winning Saatchi & Saatchi’s HQ in Chancery Lane, London a Secure Cycle parking facility was co designed with Bennetts Associates to incorporate 90 unique individual cycle parking spaces with individual kit lockers.

BREEAM excellent rating is often a requirement that necessitates state of the art cycle parking and associated quality lockers, showers and access but not in all cases. For some workplaces it is a simple as responding to employees sustainable transport demands and providing appropriate quality though through resources.
The Bennetts Associates design set very challenging targets for sustainability and achieved significant carbon reductions compared to a more typical speculative office development. The approval of the Cycle Corp bicycle parking configuration under both The Derwent Sustainability Framework and achieving the maximum credits under BREEAM Offices 2008 was critical to the project success and with our input, was achieved.
The ergonomics and real user experience that we fully understand are incorporated into our workplace cycle hub designs.
Our user focused design methodology most often produces the highest density cycle parking for the building facilities manager and therefore cost effective procurement too. Incorporating clear thoroughfares and distinctive colour schemes and outstanding graphics ensure that the workplace cycle hub has a wow factor and desirability.
