It’s been a while since we blogged so to catch you up on all our exciting activities and plans to help you work effectively around COVID guidelines, here is our Autumn Good Newsletter.

COVID Our Plan and Your safety

Our COVID-19 risk assessment is in place to manage transmission risk and enabling us to maintain safe distances and meet the latest government requirements of no more than 6 people together; The Old Barn studio is open for appointments, made in advance.

For clients that drop by unannounced, we have our masks at the ready to meet and greet you but will only allow admittance after we are satisfied there is no risk either way. All at-home consultations are being undertaken with the same pre-qualifying criteria.

Almost business as usual but things are taking longer to complete, and some supplies have extended lead times as a result.

We have not been idle however and are pleased to tell you about some New Product Launches.

4Scooter

The Department for Transport’s latest National Travel Survey shows that over the last four years the increase of pupils scooting or cycling to school has been sustained, and with Government Coronovirus guidelines changing our lives, less public transport school journeys and more scooting and cycling by pupils is inevitable.

So what are education establishments doing to accommodate the influx of scooters and bicycles?

At the very starting point of classroom education and leading the way in preparation for the micro scooter influx, Dormer Well Infant School in Ealing, London commissioned H-B Designs to make and install scooter parking for sixty-four scooting pupils.

The brief was to incorporate the Themed Icons of British Wildlife that are normally only fitted to the top of our WonderWall Cycle Panels. These colourful icons are perfect for Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) programmes and promoting positive wellbeing by combining physical activity with knowledge of the featured British Wildlife animals; Puffin, Bat, Kestrel, Frog, Badger and Hare.

The new 4Scooter racks are 100% eco friendly. Made from sustainably sourced timber and fully recyclable steel, machined and finished to our high standard here in the H-B workshop. The simple design provides robust, easy drop and go scooter parking in either double-sided or single-sided units and no special maintenance for the grounds staff.

4-TIER Our New Compact Grandstand

We have been busy developing our new small grandstand building and are pleased to launch 4-TIER this Autumn for Spring 2021 installations.

This seated spectator stand features a unique interchangeable cladding system for easy promotion of sponsors and club events and it can easily expand with club achievements in multiples of 50 seats, all the way down your pitchside.

The construction materials are environmentally sustainable and recyclable, making the cost and design-life of this grandstand best in class.

Importantly the 4-TIER design meets the Green Guide requirements for sports ground safety.

The government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport report that the population of England have been cycling 78% more on average during the COVID-19 lock-down period. Wow!

Perhaps inevitably, though, as the number of cyclists on the roads is increasing so is the level of cycle crime, with reported bike theft up by 48% in June alone, according to national cycle database BikeRegister.

The New Normal - Use Our Project Power-Up Service

Our design consultation services are always available for you to take advantage of, but with some limitations to on-site consultations and your need to get your project moving forward, we now provide our insightful Project Power-Up service via Skype or Zoom.

Our hour-long consultation will enable you to focus your outline ideas and thoughts, defining the project goal, your available resources, likely budget and the next steps to making it happen.
